There’s something wonderfully liberating happening with Jessie Ware right now. I’ve spotted her popping up in guest spots — including that memorable appearance with Scissor Sisters at Glastonbury 2025. In fact, it got me thinking: is Jessie finally having the absolute time of her life? Because from where I’m standing, she looks more self-assured, confident and gloriously comfortable in her own pop skin than ever.
And perhaps Jessie herself has the answer. Speaking to Gay Times for the magazine’s latest edition, she remarked, “The queer community is why my performance has gotten so much better!”. It’s a beautiful acknowledgement of the community that has embraced her music, while also offering a glimpse into just how much that connection has influenced her evolution as a performer.
Directed by Jordan Rossi, the visual takes place almost entirely inside an elevator. And although this is certainly not your average lift ride. Instead, it becomes a wonderfully intimate space of movement, heat and connection. Joining Jessie for the ride is an all-star cast including Monroe Bergdorf, Babydaddy and Tsatsamis. They collectively bring to life the idea that we can shed expectations, embrace self-expression and simply allow ourselves to connect.
“Sauna” has already established itself as a firm fan favourite from Jessie’s acclaimed “Superbloom” album, so when fans started calling for an official release, Jessie clearly knew better than to ignore them. And just like that… ta-dah! The “Sauna” summer has officially arrived.
Speaking about the single, Jessie said: “I have decided to make this summer a red hot Sauna summer! I love how this song makes people feel, it was made for dancing.”
I suspect the dancing won’t stop there. Later this year, Jessie embarks on ‘The Superbloom Tour’, her biggest tour to date and her first-ever UK arena run. The North American dates include a stop at New York’s legendary Radio City Music Hall, before the tour reaches its grand finale with a huge hometown performance at London’s The O2 Arena.
Jessie Ware isn’t simply entering another chapter — she’s kicking the door open, turning up the temperature and inviting the whole room to dance. Frankly, pop needs more of this kind of confidence, and Jessie looks very comfortable wearing it.
