Coming in on the tail end of this new release from Munich’s Claire as the campaign kicked off whilst I was in the midst of my summer break.
The five piece indietronica band have been building quite a presence since first stealing my attention last year with their pulsating darkwave number “Pioneers”.
The noted rise of the emerging band has been assisted by the acquisition of tour support bookings with Capital Cities, Chvrches and Bastille throughout a stretch of international tour dates.
Claire’s stunning chillwave track “Games” filtered through to these shores a few weeks ago paving the way for the imminent “Broken Promise Land” EP release to follow.
“Games” should be seen as a sophisticated piece of pop, it’s fluid, affecting and flourishes with an air of exquisite romanticism that is just where the indietronica trend-o-meter is pointing right now. Added to this, Claire’s front woman Josie Claire Bürkle presents vocals that align in a hazy alt-pop trajectory on par with London Grammar’s golden girl Hannah Reid and genre frontrunner Florence Welch.
Adding to the momentum currently being picked up on Claire, American indie pop hipsters Passion Pit have worked their hands on “Games” dealing a praiseworthy and mesmerising cosmically trippy re-work treatment which is available for FREE DOWNLOAD via the Soundcloud stream below.
