A week devoid of playing anything from Marina And The Diamonds “Electra Heart” is a very dull week indeed in my book, and oh I’ll admit to girl crushing on her bubblegum Princess ways too.
In truth I am quite ecstatic to be given anything Marina-ified to crow about cuz girlfriend is not only so on my level of eclectical balance, her femme fatale persona seeps right into her material making it all so positively attractive in alluring some of the radest best remix attention that it could ever muster.
When it comes to “Electra Heart”, you could count “Lies” as being one of the album’s most demure of tracks even with all it’s sub-bass wobble but it does lay a foundation of depth for someone to come in and raise the game on it for sure, someone as equally basshead prolific as Canadian duo Zeds Dead for instance.
The bass team paint the melody with a drifting mellow ambience that unravels into heightened precision paced bombs of bass pulses delivering upon more light and shade than the “Electra Heart” original. From what began as a modest track has now blossomed into a noteworthy EDM track.
