Who might be next in line to the torch bearers of British rap, Professor Green and Example – money’s on Chingford son Ryan Esstar.
The 21 year old has champions in the studios of BBC 1 Extra and has won himself a production partner / collaborator in Darren Martyn. Darren’s resume glows with the poptastic nature of urban glitterati - Booty Luv, Tinie Tempah, Shola Ama.
As he guides Ryan through his debut “Break Up” Darren turns his own silky urban groove on, which kind of makes the song for me.
Ryan’s deliverance and penmanship though are without question potentially cusping on new mc star rising.
