Emerging London based outfit Viølets are about to bust out some rather alluring indie brushed, electronic pop starting with their gorgeous current single “When The Lights Go Down”.

Although, I don’t pay attention to hype (I like, what I like and I am privileged to share it with you here on EQ). I have to say this… it hasn’t taken these guys very long to create an impression amongst the new music scene, since they formed a little over a year ago. The name Viølets has been appearing in all the right places, from BBC Introducing to The Great Escape and now the band have made it here onto the pages of EQ for the video premiere of the aforementioned current release. Namely because I couldn’t resist the dreamy combination of soft focused synthesizers and ethereally reaching vocals which form together to make this track so captivatingly, lush and soothing.

Subtlety is a good thing to note here, “When The Light Goes Down” is quality chill-out music evoking a feeling of calm coolness and serenity. The overall picture paints it as blissfully weaving tones of shimmery loveliness onto the pop landscape, with master-strokes of crafting abilities. This is only the band’s third release, and it says to me that they are quickly becoming renowned for creating special blends of synth infused melodies that you can easily get lost in.

In complement to this, the newly unleashed visual has a night-time theme and basks in evocative tones of sensuality. When the lights go down in this video there are connotations of a provocatively carnal nature to be had and it’s not all redeeming on the bright side of life.

Be sure to get in early on this hotly tipped band, go see them live they are supporting EQ favourites XY&O on 11th July at Sebright Arms. Tickets from Dice FM and Ticketweb.
