Remember when Neneh Cherry ruled the airwaves? Well – once you take one listen to Mercedes and her new track "Shock Absorber" you'll be having visions of bicycle shorts and puffy silver jackets blinged out to-the-max all over again. This 90's hip-house track and London girl pays serious homage to the decade when pop was fun and gritty and I for one – am a fan. If the radio mix isn't your bag and you're more disco-inclined, there is the Tonka Hypermodern disco mix which has a serious dancefloor groove while the other remixes on her MySpace page will no doubt serve up something for everyone's tastes.
