A couple of days ago, previous EQ favourite Japayork got in touch with some news about his new project. Apparently he's left London and is now living in Los Angeles, where he's started working on new music with new faces.
The first act Japayork told us about is Big History, and we think they're rather good. He describes them as a mix of soul, pop and electronic, which sounds pretty accurate to us. Their debut track, "WARDRUM", is a call to arms for lost lovers, and its gloomy vocals but soft synth highlights – matched with hazy and soulful vocals from Meg Roussel – make it an understated but affecting listen.
You can hear the track below, or download it here if you fancy it.
