Sam Tompkins 3

Nothing could be as fresh and new as the arrival of young UK talent Sam Tompkins onto the EQ emerging artist radar with his sound and praiseworthy debut single “Supernova

We pick up on Sam via his YouTube channel which over the course of the past couple of years has seen frequent action with a steady and frequent stream of cover songs beginning with Ed Sheeran’s “Small Bump”, taking in Bastille’s “Pompeii” and Sam Smith’s “Money On My Mind” amongst many others on the way to the debut single release.

Surprisingly with a YouTube channel that is mostly centred of indie-pop and hip-hop orientated homage’s, Sam Tompkins debut single “Supernova” rings through with a direct hit of electro pop direction.

Mindful that “Supernova” is Sam’s inaugural unveiling of a pop sound to call his own, it still leans with an urban edge through the organic tonal quality of his vocals.
It also quite seems that things are being set in place to guide Sam into a similar pattern of pop vision accessibility to that of an equally young talent that burst onto the scene a couple of years ago, Conor Maynard. Although Sam does carry more someway in flexibility, leaning in-between like a mini Mike Posner.

The overall pop suited sound works in the favour for this young artist and envisage that from this debut forward, surely the only way is up for Sam Tompkins.
