It is somewhat the case in pop music circles that bands are made up of friends and siblings. Although it happens, (such like, with The Jacksons, Billie Eilish and Finneas) this is not so common for siblings of music artists to forge their own separate music careers from the outset. However, joining the ranks of these pop music siblings, Ryder Beer the younger brother of globally recognized popstar, Madison Beer. Similarly, is rising up the ranks fashioning a dreamy smooth blend of pop with a suitably sonic synth edge. Thus, the emerging, singer-songwriter and producer delivers a soundscape appropriately fitting right in with the fast-approaching cosy season.
In his second music offering “One that got Away” Ryder laments on, not acting on impulse. Moreover, the song expresses the flurry of intriguing feelings felt when noticing someone he feels drawn to from across a room. Making an on-the-spot decision is by no means easy. Equally so if you’re the type that usually prefers to play things cool in potential dating situations. In such circumstances, learning to trust our instincts more, avoids the looming, ‘you snooze you loose’, experience.
Noticeably Ryder is ingeniously paving his own creative path, honing a distinctive styling of sound, voice, and message. While evidently, taking cues from influential artists such as The 1975, Lauv, and Frank Ocean. Ryder’s music skillfully melds contemporary indie-pop nuances with poignant, introspective lyricism, resulting in a sound that is distinctly and authentically his.
As an emerging artist, Ryder isn’t coming out with half-measures that’s for sure. He has an appropriate amount of pop sensibility, that when met with sonic musicality is reminiscent of Troye Sivan‘s most beloved works.
Undeniably with the superbly executed “One that got Away,” his impressive sophomore release is set to solidify Ryder Beer’s place as a rising star.
