One thing music has taught me time and time again is to never write an artist off. One of the most exciting aspects of immersing in pop music culture is witnessing artists evolve, recalibrate, and reinvent themselves. We see this constantly with global icons such as Lady Gaga and Kylie Minogue, yet within the emerging artist space, that creative freedom often feels even more pronounced.

In fact, I distinctly remember being introduced to several new artists some years ago — one of whom happens to be today’s featured emerging talent. At the time, their musical direction simply didn’t align with the blog’s coverage. However, fast-forward a few years and, suddenly, everything clicks into place. With a brand-new project, full circle is achieved — and the result sounds genuinely brilliant.

Today, I’m spotlighting MEEK — the singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist who has just unveiled a triple-track EP as a powerful introduction following her recent signing with BMG. Notably, this new music marks a complete departure from her previous releases. It’s clear that MEEK has significantly refined her songwriting and artistry, having spent recent years penning hits for the likes of Rita Ora, Alex Gaudino, Charlotte Plank, and more.

The EP is anchored by the bold, empowering title track “Fabulous,” alongside the candid and confessional “Brixton”, and the poignant breakup anthem “I Want Love, But Not That Much”. The latter, in particular, channels a stylish, emotionally open energy reminiscent of Chappell Roan. Together, these three tracks serve as a concise yet compelling overview of MEEK’s new musical era. “Fabulous” is firmly in position as the standout centrepiece and launchpad.

Unsurprisingly, “Fabulous” feels destined to go places. I’m fully expecting it to pop off — and I’m clearly not alone in that belief. To support the release, BMG enlisted renowned director Sophie Muller, alongside Theo Adams’ multidisciplinary creative talent. They deliver a colourful, high-impact visual that perfectly complements the song’s reclaiming-my-power narrative.

Visually, the video is just as energised as the track itself. It follows MEEK as she stomps through Blackpool, making her presence unapologetically felt while serving confidence, authenticity, and attitude in abundance. As a result, the visuals feel both grounded and larger-than-life — an ideal match for a song this bold.

Quite simply, I’ve had “Fabulous” on repeat all weekend, and I’m nowhere near bored of it. It’s revitalising, empowering, and infectious — the kind of pop moment that makes you feel ten stories tall. This is MEEK stepping fully into her own, and honestly, the world should be paying attention.
