When a new artist first comes to light through showing out their debut effort, at once it is that we are struck in opinion by either of two ways of thinking. Maybe it is that we see them lying on the cusp of potential, just a tweak within reach of hitting the mark or they appear before us with that certain buzz already evident and engaged in purpose.

When it comes to being introduced to up-and-coming electronic pop artiste Hannah Jane Lewis it is apparent that the latter of the two first impressions variables applies, as New York raised Hannah presents scintillatingly synth directed debut “Why Start A War”.

Between embarking on her creative journey, first inspired of her time immersed within the NYC atmosphere and uprooting to the UK to percolate and refine her ideas by absorbing the artistic inspiration of the London pop scene. Hannah has brought together the best of both pop cultures under her own unique umbrella mix of vibrantly stunning electronic pop, from the get-go.

As the pristine melody heat up’s and reveals a little of its diversity in switching from darkly evocative elements to that of underlying synth-pop imbued infectiousness, it is clear that Hannah has taken on board an immense breadth of knowledge, whilst delivering a glistenly mellifluous synthesis of blissfully divine, electronic engaged sounds.

The lyrically life-learned and purposeful single heads up the full EP release due to drop this summer. And if “Why Start A War” is anyway indicative of what’s further to come forward, we are going to be in for a summer of well-considered, rolling pop release from Hannah Jane Lewis, fighting off the onslaught of all those predicted tropical anthems that are bubbling up in readiness for release for when the sun begins to peak out. As in our summation Hannah Jane Lewis could well steal the thunder and own summer in our forecast of striking synth-pop savvy prediction.
