Truthfully, I’m finding it impossible to choose a favourite between her two most recent releases. “Russian Roulette” immediately drew me in with its emotionally charged storytelling, and now “Experiment” arrives matching that same intensity. Together, the songs showcase EMMMA’s gift for pairing deeply intimate lyricism with cinematic production. She balances dark, euphoric, driving pop with striking emotional vulnerability.
The visuals deserve just as much recognition as the music itself. Working with directors Desacato and Holly Wood, EMMMA has crafted a distinctive visual identity that feels every bit as immersive as her songwriting. In “Experiment,” EMMMA is trapped inside a misty, flower-covered birdcage, physically and emotionally unravelling as she removes the bandage wrapped around her head.
