Keep an eye on this rising star! Chloe Qisha is making waves as an emerging pop newcomer, having been featured on BBC Radio 1 Introducing and selected as a First Fifty performer at the November preview showcase for the 2025 Great Escape Festival. When collaborating with the likes of the Holly Humberstone songwriter and producer Rob Milton. Chloe has strategically plotted her musical direction and released two debut tracks since July, propelling her ascent at lightning speed.
Moreover, these striking introductory tracks leave no doubt why she’s garnering such remarkable backing. The Malaysian-born artist, who currently resides in London, has been attracting substantial support from key figures in the music industry. Namely those who are actively known for promoting and endorsing emerging talents in the music scene.
Backstory: She studied for degrees in both psychology and communications and it is her knowledge in these subjects and general inquisitive nature which vastly enrich her songwriting and lyrical narratives. This classic songwriting style has evolved in over two years of writing with notable lyricists. Where she learned the art form of articulating her stories and song ideas in a distinctive way bringing in a captivating dash of nostalgia into the mix. See also cites musical influence stemming from the 80s, especially Talking Heads. The results speak for themselves in the tracks “VCR Home Video,” “I Lied, I’m Sorry” and with the newest offering “Sexy Goodbye.”
“Sexy Goodbye” is the last teaser before the debut EP drops on 15th November, which arrives right after The Great Escape First Fifty show. Infused with 80s pop influences and characterized by the prominent use of synths. Chloe’s velvety vocals bring a contemporary edge to the heartbreak pop narrative. As she boldly calls out the names of her partner’s secret online love interests. Furthermore, as she conducts the inevitable breakup, clearing out her ex’s belongings she declares her desire to emerge “bulletproof” from the pain of loss. With lines like “I want to be bulletproof now that I’m loosing you. Oh, cry, cry, cry. I want a sexy goodbye”… “If you’re gonna break my heart. I want to look too damn hot,” the song exudes a captivating and empowering allure.
Chloe Qisha is positively onto something with the crossover, alt-pop/80s influenced style of “Sexy Goodbye“. I really can’t get enough of it. Hits repeat for the 27th time.
