Jingle bells, jingle bells! – It’s less than 5 months till Christmas! With that in mind, here is a chart of my 10 favourite tracks of 2008.

  1. Eric Prydz "Pjanoo" – Original mix – instant classic!
  2. Kate Ryan’s "Ella Elle L’a" – Bodybangers mix – perfect blend of heart wrenching melody with banging bassline.
  3. Guru Josh "Infinity" – Klaas remix – pure class, no vocal necessary.
  4. Kylie "In My Arms" – Pitron Sanna mix  – best Kylie mix in ages!
  5. Dave Darell "Children" – Club mix – another oldie, and another goodie.
  6. Cyndi Lauper "Into The Nightlife" – Jody Den Broeder mix – adds a cooler edge to this top track.
  7. Denis The Menace & Big World "Fired Up"- Original mix – hands in air anthem!
  8. Energy 52 "Cafe Del Mar"- Dabruck & Klein Private Bootleg Mix – even better than the real thing.
  9. House Of Glass ft. Giorgio Giordano "Disco Down 2008" – Alex Gaudino & Jason Rooney Remix – what’s not to love?
  10. Taito Tikaro "Shine On Me" – Pitron & Sanna Totality mix – an obvious choice.

Pay special attention to number two. This is a mix of an old French track about Ella Fitzgerald, originally sung by France Gall, covered here by Belgium’s answer to Gina G, Kate Ryan, who represented them in Eurovision 2006, and mixed by the brilliant Bodybangers. It’s a pretty convoluted history but the result is one of my fave tracks of the year. The video, however, is a complete disgrace – Ms Ryan doesn’t appear to have an original bone in her skinny body! Look familiar?
