Del Marquis is staying busy during the Scissor Sisters hiatus. In January he released the EP “Tickle” with New York singer Xavier Smith. The dance record received rave reviews for its funky pop sound that resembled music Prince would make. Ironically the EP features the band New Power Generation who backed Prince during his Diamond and Pearls Tour. This week Del Marquis announced that the collaboration will continue in his new project, “Cosmos.” The full length album is available on March 26 and will be released under the name Slow Knights.

“Cosmos” arrives the same day as the new Depeche Mode record, “Delta Machine.” After listening to a few snippets from the “Cosmos” album I felt like a Martin Gore collaboration would have fit perfectly. Nevertheless, the album does feature appearances by Bright Light Bright Light‘s Rod Thomas, Chrissie Poland, Bridget Barkan and Mykal Kilgore. “Cosmos” will be a mix of funky dance tracks and feel good mid-tempos that sound like a radio hit from the late 80s.

Take a listen to the “Cosmos” sampler and prepare your soul for the album that will take you back to a time when pop music had the power to live forever.
