Earlier this month, we got the honour to sit down with Swedish pop superstar Darin as he swooped into Londontown to perform his very first gig in the UK at The Bedford.

As long-time fans of Darin, we shrieked when we got the invite with the pop prodigy to ask him a few of our burning questions.

In our interview with Darin we get his thoughts on the pandemic, his mark on Swedish pop music, being a Gemini, how coming out has shifted his creativity and we get the lowdown on our favourite earworm song of his – “Microphone“.

You also get a few live clips from The Bedford in the interview, including his first ever cover performance of classic Sade hit “By Your Side”. Darin takes us to church on this one…

Pro-tip: If you haven’t seen the music video to his power ballad “Holding Me More” we advise you to do so right now. Just click play above.

Warning: You might need a box of tissues for this one – I certainly can’t watch this video without my achy breaky heart just melting with every watch. “Holding Me More” certainly hits home as Darin passionately sings these perfectly poignant lyrics about his lover coming back to him. It’s heavy stuff.

A lot of us gays will immediately relate to this one – trust me. It’s really nice to see Darin perform in such a vulnerable and true-to-himself way since his coming out. You kinda just want to give him a big hug and cuddle after watching “Holding Me More”. We’ve been there Darin, but you most perfectly have captured this feeling in song.

And in true Darin style – look out for his new holiday single “What’s Christmas Anyway” dropping soon.
