There is something especially satisfying about discovering an artist just before everything clicks into place. That’s exactly how Daine feels right now. Although I am arriving a little later than some, with the debut album “In Endless Awe & Agony” set for release on November 6 via Pack. Records, it still feels like the perfect moment to dive in. And judging by the allure of “Love Love (Love Love),” there’s plenty to get excited about.
What really has me hooked is how “Love Love (Love Love)” balances vulnerability with irresistible electronic pop. The song taps into that familiar emotional tug-of-war between wanting to retreat into your own space and desperately craving someone to break through the walls you’ve built. It’s an incredibly relatable theme, and Daine delivers it with a sincerity that instantly connected with me. The more I listened, the more I found myself appreciate and understated the beauty woven into the melody.
Digging a little deeper into what “In Endless Awe & Agony” promises, it feels as though Daine has reached a genuine creative turning point. I can hear traces of the hyperpop energy that first put them on the radar. Yet, however, this record sounds like it’s opening the door to something far more personal. Swapping heavily processed production for a more organic palette. Notably recording vocals without Auto-Tune for the very first time—feels like a bold statement of confidence. There’s something incredibly refreshing about an artist trusting their own voice so completely. Better still, it doesn’t come at the expense of the adventurous, genre-blurring songwriting. To my ears, it sounds less like a reinvention and more like an artist finally becoming comfortable enough to show us exactly who they are.
The accompanying visual for “Love Love (Love Love)” echoes that same emotional release. Rather than relying on elaborate storytelling, it celebrates movement, spontaneity and the joy of existing in the moment. The result is a video that feels effortlessly freeing, complementing the warmth and vulnerability at the heart of the song.
Some records arrive with all the answers, but the most exciting ones leave you wanting to explore furthe. For Daine the latter feels very much like one of those moments. I’m genuinely intrigued to hear where Daine takes us next.
