Yesterday I was deeply saddened by news of the tragic young death of Cory Monteith. Like many people, I am avid viewer Glee and enjoy the show’s progressive story-lines and characters. Although Glee is sometimes an escape from reality and often times feels like a guilty pleasure, one cannot deny the powerful, cultural impact the show has had on many young viewers, teaching the importance of music education and appreciation. No one cannot deny either what Glee does for songwriters in the music industry.
At just 31 years old, Cory Monteith (aka Finn Hudson) was taken from us all-to-soon and my thoughts and prayers go out to Lea Michelle and the cast of Glee during this terrible time.
Tell your loved ones that you love them, celebrate music and always remind yourself that music heals all. Let music be the answer in a world that can sometimes feel overwhelming.
