It’s been awhile since we chatted to Christian Burns and rightly so, he’s been very busy touring the world and polishing off his debut solo album ‘Simple Modern Answers’ which finally drops this week on October 25th!

In this new EQ Music interview, we talk to Christian Burns about some of the key tracks on ‘Simple Modern Answers’, what’s happening with his side projects All Hail The Silence with BT and The Bleach Works, performing to worldwide audiences, collaborating with nice people and his insatiable addiction to Instagram.

I’ve had the pleasure of listening to ‘Simple Modern Answers’ for about a week now and I can quite easily say it’s one of 2013’s best albums – especially if electronic dance music is your cup of tea. My favorite track by far is ‘Knife Games (Throwing Daggers)’ which Christian collaborated with Protoculture. Also included on the album are smash hits ‘This Light Between Us’ and his collaboration with Paul van Dyk ‘We Are Tonight’. Notable tracks that hit home for me are the brilliant ‘Kick Out The Jams’ and the rock-infused collaboration with BT, ‘The Enemy’.

What I love about ‘Simple Modern Answers’ is the flawless production. With so many collaborators on board for this mega project, from huge DJs to small producers, the album was at risk at not being a consistent body of work, but that is quite the contrary here. Christian Burns has managed to perfect the art of collaboration in such a way that proves to be innovative and creatively speaking, quite genius indeed. His guidance on the project not only shines through in his amazing vocals, but solidifies his place as THE leading male vocalist in the EDM genre.

‘Simple Modern Answers’ drops on October 25th on Armada Music – I highly suggest you get it.
