I know I’m something of a serial offender when it comes to covering Nieri on the blog. Yet here I am waxing lyrical once again. This time, it’s not only due to the release of a brand-new music video, “Sober“. But also because the long-awaited debut album, “Architecture”, which I’ve been eagerly anticipating for months, is finally here.

Since unleashing People Pleaser, the album’s first teaser, earlier this year, Nieri has had me completely under his spell. The effortlessly intertwining heartfelt storytelling with infectious melodies and undeniable sonic allure. Subsequent releases have only strengthened that grip. The title track Architecture showcases a rush of rhythmic energy paired with soaring vocals, while “Fun!,” “Boys at the Gym,” and Andy Warhol lean into a playful, provocative spirit that feels both knowing and fearless.

With that foundation laid, diving into the remaining six tracks felt genuinely exciting. The album continues to deliver plenty of dancefloor-ready moments, such as the irresistibly buoyant “Do You Wanna?”, while also making space for thoughtful introspection on “ICU,” “Disassociate,” and “American Delusion.” For good measure, Nieri also offers a cover of George Michael’s liberating dance-pop classic “Outside.” It’s tastefully executed, yet unmistakably stamped with Nieri’s own authenticity.

“Music and movement have always been deeply therapeutic for me,” says Nieri. “The songwriting on “Architecture” is rooted in personal experience, and using dance music allows those emotions to be felt as much as understood.”

“Sober” now emerges as the album’s latest focus—and notably, it’s the track that kickstarted the entire Architecture era. For the euphoric dance anthem, Nieri self-directed an enjoyable and inventive music video, opting for a reverse-playing narrative that traces a chaotic night backwards: from the hazy morning after to its intoxicating beginning. The result is a compelling visual journey through memory, desire, regret, and the ever-elusive search for clarity.

Ultimately, “Architecture” feels like the kind of debut that pop obsessives live for — confident, cohesive, and dripping in personality. Nieri understands the assignment: give us the feelings, give us the beats, and make sure we can dance through the chaos while we’re at it. It’s bold without being brash, vulnerable without losing its gloss, and proof that dance music still has plenty of emotional mileage left when it’s in the right hands. Now turn it up, hit repeat, and let Nieri do what he does best.
