Hello EQs -

Just wanted to write a letter to all of you and say a huge thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading EQ in 2009.  I feel blessed to have such a vibrant community of readers who enjoy all my music musings and random rants about the world of electronica and pop.  When I first started writing EQ I never would have imagined that it would change my life so much, nor that anyone would even be slightly interested in what I have to say about music, so again "THANK YOU" again for reading and please continue to leave comments on Twitter, Facebook and the blog as I enjoy reading all your feedback.  I am really excited about 2010 and what it will bring to us in terms of new music, so rest assured, I'll continue to be blogging my brains out every day for you.

I thought about doing another Top Ten Moments post this year, but decided to scrap it as there was only one defining moment for me in 2009 as a music blogger – and that was getting to interview and meet Imogen Heap.  I'm a huge fan of hers and getting to spend some time with her in person was really the highlight for 2009 for me.  I just want to say thanks to her and her manager Mark for letting me have some face time.  The Imogen Heap interview was really my number one goal for EQ in 2009 and it feels amazing to have achieved it.  I don't know what goal to set in 2010 as of yet – I don't know what else could top that one for me…Maybe chatting with Madonna?  A blogger can dream right?  Adam Lambert – you're on my list <wink>.

The EQ Live night wouldn't be anything without DJ Adamix's belief in bringing the blog to life and we had some absolutely amazing nights at Underbelly and Bar Music Hall in 2009.  This may sound very stupid, but I actually got goosebumps at the last EQ night seeing the crowd dance their tits off to our play-lists and seeing the EQ logo in the background really made me feel like I had achieved something tangible.  A huge thanks to all the acts that showcased for us too – there are far too many to list here, but you all know who you are and you should all know that I am forever grateful for giving EQ the opportunity to present you and your music.  In particular it was a total pleasure to work closely with artists such as Antigone, Temposhark, Sam Taylor, MaJiKer, Red Blooded Women, Luciana and Christian Burns this year – as you all know I'm huge fans of their music so getting to help them promote it was a total joy for me.

Mandy – you are truly the best friend a music blogger could ask for – I'm so happy to have you on Team EQ as I really can't do all this without you and your input – I'm so blessed to have someone in my life like you who shares my vision.  Most of all, I'm so happy to have your friendship – it means the world to me.

To all the lovely music PRs out there who take good care of me – I just want to say I really appreciate what you guys do!  You guys have a tough job sometimes and this music blogger really appreciates the opportunities you have put my way this year – I am always up for the challenge!  In particular, I just want to give a big shout out to Brad T, Heather S, Nik T, Elisa A, David G, Stephanie D, Rich & Bally A, Dan T and Martha T who really get what EQ is about and it's been great getting to know you guys this past year.  I hope to have a few more drinks with you all to help ring in the new year properly!

To my internet buddies and bloggers -  Arjan, Brad, Sheena, Gabriel, Michael and Will – you guys are the best and I just want to say thank you for being you.  I'm such a huge fan of your blogs and you continue to inspire me every day with your wit and friendly enthusiasm for music.

What does 2010 hold?  Well, I'm happy to announce that I'll be launching my spin-off blog in January as well – I've come up with the name and concept but for now you'll have to wait.  It's all about quirky London and not music related at all, but it's an idea I've had for a long time and I'm gonna bring it all of you very soon.  EQ also has some big music plans for 2010 too but more on those when the right time comes.

Huge hugs to each and every one of you and wherever you are reading this – I hope you have a fantastic New Years and we'll see you on the other side of 2010!

Love – Raj
