Hello EQs.  So tonight is the night.  I am off to Brighton with Geri-licious to see the Darren Hayes Time Machine Tour.  I am SO looking forward to it.  I had a little sneaky peaky at some of the photos that Darren posted on his Myspazz page and it looks like a light and laser spectacular combined with the thrilling electronic sounds of my favourite male artist of all time.  Many EQs have already got to see the show in Glasgow, Newcastle and Birmingham and have been sending me lovely emails about it saying how much fun I am going to have – so I am utterly hyped-up and ready to go.  Can’t wait to see the lovely Myspacers/Darren fans that I have had the pleasure to hang out with this year too like Mandy, Manu, Emma, Megan, Rich & Adam, Clare and Claudia!  Can’t wait to see you guys tonite and next week at Royal Albert Hall!  So with that, on with the rants!

  1. I’m such a fucking gay.  I love Britney’s ‘Gimme More’.  I tried not to like it cuz, well, it’s Britney.  But you know what – I thought her VMA performance was hilarious and I totally got it.  And the song is pretty cool.  I don’t own any Britney records or mp3s, but I did illegally download this song.  It’s a one-off peeps.  Don’t expect EQ to turn into another new music blog that only talks about Britney, Justin, Nelly Furtado, Beyonce, Shakira and various members of the Black Eyed Peas.
  2. Speaking of new music blogs…  I keep getting emails everyday for link requests saying how much our blogs are similar and how much they love EQ.  Then I look at their blogs and they are nothing more than gossip about above said artists.  Funny thing that – these people want to link up with me, yet they’ve never left a comment nor have I heard of them before…sorry peeps, interactivity is key, a little more effort with the interactivity and you might get to share in the traffic, ok?  You might as well be someone on the street asking me for money. 
  3. Naked Highway have made a new song called ‘Shorty’ that is to die for!  I can’t stop listening to it.  LISTEN TO NAKED HIGHWAY PEOPLE.  Sy from Naked Highway is one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met in this so called pop world and the music he makes is such electronic fun.  To get acquainted with Naked Highway again, visit them on Myspazz and tell em EQ sent ya.  POP IT DROP IT!!!
  4. EEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKK!  Stop the press.  Dangerous Muse have posted a 16 second clip of their new song ‘Everyday is Halloween’ over on their Myspazz page as well.  I am salivating.  I hunger for the finished track.  Gimme more.  It’s EQ bitch!
  5. Still haven’t listened to my Jamelia’s Greatest Hits CD…
  6. We were so pissed off that we missed Sia’s show at Bush Hall a few weeks ago.  However we just go tickets for her upcoming show in December so the world isn’t going to end.  Thanks Keeley for hooking it up!
  7. Still don’t like the Sugababes ‘About You Now’ no matter how ‘spanking’ it touts itself as.  It’s just so McFly that can’t listen to it.  I actually downloaded the single and all the remixes to see if I’d change my mind and you know what – it didn’t…it just doesn’t even sound like the Sugababes at all.  However if you are watching Channel Five this weekend, that showcase that Ross and I went to will be on telly – look out for us in the audience!
  8. Loyal EQ reader Daniel Danny Dan has kindly recommended pop/experimental stylings of Walter Meego and Swedish club diva September to all of you!  Check the linkage – they are both pretty good and I’m sure I’ve heard of September sometime somewhere before…think and burn!
  9. I’ve been listening to a lot of Skye lately again.  I really likes her and her album ‘Mind How You Go’ was such a great listen.  Get reacquainted with her again over at Myspazz and make sure you check out her cover of the Gorillaz ‘Feel Good Inc’ that is just as amazing as the original.  I’ve officially added her to my cool little list of ‘Uberwomen’ which consists of Antigone, Tracey Thorn, Imogen Heap, Siobhan Donagahy, Sylvia Powell and Rosin Murphy (who fucking has me in a big trance lately).
  10. All this talk of Sergey Lazarev on EQ lately has totally got me back into t.A.T.U. again.  Check out some of their tracks on their Myspazz page like ‘Loves Me Not’ and ‘Dangerous and Moving’ which may have passed you by when it was released awhile ago.  Forget the lesbian romps on the playground, these girls are some fierce bitches.  Oh why not, let’s take a look at their cover of The Smiths classic ‘How Soon Is Now’…
