You know, I'm not the biggest of Beyonce fans.  But last night I got invited down to witness the Queen B do a secret and rather small, intimate secret gig at Shepherds Bush Empire and hey – I'm not stupid – so I decided to go along to see the diva icon do her thang following her epic performance at Glastonbury just the night before.

I probably will never again get to see Beyonce in such a small, intimate environment, so bearing the terrible London heat and crowds last night, I popped on down to Shepherds Bush after work and found myself rammed against the stage barrier where I took these shots with my iPhone.  Normally I wouldn't fight to get so close to the stage at any show – but fuck it – it was Beyonce!

All I can say about seeing Beyonce live for the first time – FUCKING INCREDIBLE.  She didn't grace us with her presence until after 10pm on a school night – but the wait was worth it.  Singing just a handful of her greatest hits like "Work It Out", "Single Ladies", "Listen" from "Dreamgirls" and a very curious cover of "Bohemian Rhapsody", Beyonce proved last night why she one of the leading female pop icons of today and it truly was an honor to be in the company of all the fans, journalists and celebrities attending the launch.

Who was there?  Oh, just Adele, Jessie J, Gweneth Palthrow, Tinie Tempah, Wretch32, Alexandra Burke, Duncan James and Jay-Z to name a few.  The atmosphere was energetic and electric and it's something I will never forget.  In my eyes – Beyonce is Tina Turner incarnate and truly a living legend.

I couldn't leave you with just some photos, so for all of you who love Beyonce, here's 53 seconds of "Single Ladies" that I captured on my iPhone for you.  Enjoy.

Thanks Jenna and Sean for making sure EQ was there to catch the magic as it happened.
