Watch “Want U Back” (Cher Lloyd cover) by Ashton Zanecki

Below is what I said about emerging artist Ashton Zanecki when he was like 14 years old…and I’d still say the same thing about him at 17 years old. That and I hate him because he’s so young. LOL.

Check out his new cover version of Cher Lloyd’s “Want U Back”. I think you’ll enjoy it as much as I did. I’ve got my eyes on this kid, he’s actually got that something special that gets me excited about emerging pop star talent…

“You know I get a lot of emails from American teenagers wanting me to listen to their music and sometimes I actually do. But more often than not, it’s absolute shit. But when I listened to the music of fourteen-year-old (yes, 14!) Ashton Zanecki from Maryland, I was a little surpised. Ashton is an aspiring singer/songwriter/producer and has put together some left-field electro which is “not bad”. It’s a little computer pop for right now, but I think Ashton shows loads of potential for a teenager. Take a listen to “Get Outta My Face” and “Getaway/Orange Radio” on his MySpace page and I think you’ll understand where I’m coming from. I wish him all the luck in the world. When he gets old enough to leave home and move to the big city like all aspiring creative youngsters do, I’m sure he’ll make a bit of a splash wherever he plugs his Macbook in. All you future pop stars and tarts should be wooing Ashton for a collab.”
