Girl Friend

Girl Friend are the band we have been getting very excitable about lately.

Namely, as the Manchester indie electronic pop outfit headed up by brother and sister vocal leads, Amory and Eleanor Neish-Melling have that certain sleek style and overall coolness factor about them that just hands down, won us as fans.

Even as far back as a year ago, we first began saying things about Girl Friend, like; “When I first took a look at this band, Girl Friend’s image spoke loudly to me as that of a band I’d really want to be seeing live”. Well that part of our bucket list now has a big tick beside it, because we got to see Girl Friend do their thing recently when appearing at the British Summer Time Festival and also scooped an interview with Amory and Eleanor too.

The one thing, we have as yet been left waiting on to arrive from the band has been the appearance of a pop music video. To tell the truth it’s secretly what we have been positively yearning for all along.

Current single “Hello Stranger” is the one chosen to launch Girl Friend into the realm of pop music video making. And quite honestly feel the tracks chic noir presence has most probably and fortuitously begged a video into fruition of these two beautiful individuals, perfecting their vacant stares and creating plenty of a casually nonchalant mood. Which exudes the exact epitome of cool when it comes to our own perceptions about Girl Friend.

This glossy, split-screen affair of Amory and Eleanor singing wistfully into the gaze of the camera, links in succinctly with the melancholy mood of the track. If we didn’t find it alluring enough already just by the power of listening alone, it definitely has doubled in stature now with the introduction of striking visuals of this genetically blessed, glamorous pair of siblings.
