Dan Black

Wonky pop auteur Dan Black returns to the music arena after a couple of years hiatus flanked by Kelis on “Hearts”, a future pop monster cut of electro-tinged sensibility and the first single to be lifted from his long awaited sophomore album.

The in-demand pop creator who since release of his debut album “((Un))” has since joined forces with the likes of Imogen Heap, Ryan Tedder, Kelis and Micky Ekko in use of his production and songwriting skills, now raises the bar of ingenuity and pop splendour on the intriguingly bouncy collaboration with Kelis.

In the name of artistic licence, the video captures footage of Dan on a rooftop in Paris in a 24hr, human time lapse feature that sees Dan joined by some giant cuddlies together with superimposed cut and paste visions of Kelis that are that fashioned by the aptly named Parisian designers Chic And Artistic.

Complex by design but simplistically unpretentious in musical composition, “Hearts” is a grower that seems certain to pound its way into your noggins with the subliminal capability of marching us listeners all off to the beat of its controlled rhythm to join up as a super army of Dan Black robots,  in readiness for his future pop wares.
