Sophie Ellis Bextor

Sophie Ellis Bextor has NEVER looked anything but flawless. That porcelain skin and cheek bones to-die-for haven’t altered down the years. Quite believe she’s not been genetically modified in fillers or enhancements and such like, as all appears au natural. She’s a quintessential goddess alright!

Even now I pinch myself when I remember that Sophie’s debut on Spiller’s ‘Groovejet’ is like 20 years old now, because that track, with its classic disco styling could quite so easily have been made today.

Incredible to think that Sophie has had a 20 year old career in pop, yet alone raised 4 sons.

While Sophie piled on the disco aplenty with a shelf of albums to her name: ‘Read My Lips’, ‘Shoot From The Hip’, ‘Trip The Light Fantastic’ ‘Make A Scene’, she chose to branch out in a differing direction in 2014, the ‘Wanderlust’ album that was decidedly, eclectically rock hearted. Guess that’s what comes about when you’ve an indie rock musician (Richard Jones of The Feeling) as a husband.

From going off-piste quite literally with ‘Wanderlust’, Sophie has found her way back to the dancefloor for her sixth album ‘Familia’ which drops in a month.

Lead single ‘Come With Us’ is a real return to form for Sophie, proving that you could never write her off no matter if she undertakes to experiment from time-to-time. The call of the disco from whence she came from is still very much alive within her. As long as she continues to see us right with a cracking slice of dancefloor heaven regularly like ‘Come With Us’ is, we’ll all be more than happy won’t we?!

You can’t really argue with lady that who pulls off wearing such bold colours and totally rocks a yellow frock.

Our dancing shoes are being buffing up in readiness for when ‘Familia’ drops.
