Ever since Nick Jonas went solo, he is just a hit-making pop machine. We’ve seen him pump out upbeat pop tracks such as ‘Jealous’ and ‘Levels,’. Now it’s time to see another side of the all grown up Jo-bro. Time to rip your heart in two as his heart is broken, and he is really letting us feel it with his latest single and video to ‘Chainsaw’.
Now how can someone break a heart like Nick’s? The emotionally driven ballad-like track brings home all the anger and hopelessness one feels after an ugly break up. A piano lead melody carries the sadness in Nick Jonas’ voice as he reminisces about all the times when the two lovers were perfect. Some heavy anger envelopes the track whilst he feels like ridding himself of all the things that reminded him of her.
“I’ll just take a chainsaw to the sofa where I held your body closer for so long, I’m gonna break the fuckin’ china cause it’s just one more reminder you’re gone.”
As the former boy bander grows up in his medium, he tends to become more and more of a storyteller. You can just see the pain unraveling before you. ‘Chainsaw’ is quite the cinematic love story gone completely awry…
