Marie Munroe

Let me tell you, I had some really impressive names cited at me in similarity when being made aware of the Norwegian pop artiste Marie Munroe.

Names such as Imogen Heap, Frou Frou and The Knife’s Jenny Wilson were all given reference in verbally accounting the music style of the 2x Grammy Nominee. As it stands, this for once acted as helpful guidance when selecting what I humbly consider to be good new music to share with you, the EQ Music readership. As, there is nothing that I find more gratifying than to look further afield than the popular projections of modern mainstream pop.

Further to this Marie Munroe has all the Scandinavian allure that is so very often a win firmly on her side also, which happens to be a fortunate thing being that current focus single “Can’t Go Back” starts rather on the slow-burn until the song bursts stridently into it’s own.

All dibs to Marie for holding my wandering attention by the sheer emotive dynamic that her organically earthy vocal give, not to mention the unflinching gaze that Marie and visual director Layla Sailor hold us spellbound under.

If empowering and pink are the way to go forward when you’ve taken a few knock backs in life, Marie and Layla make it all look so rosy on the other side of heartache.

Just take stock a while and allow this track to take you to a pinkified nirvana.
