Draper

With a debut album under their belt and the promotional campaign rounded up, we might have been under the assumption that Glaswegian synth-pop trio Prides, had earned themselves some breathing space or would be buzzing with ideas to begin working on their follow-up.

One or the other they may well be, so doing, but we were not expecting them to appear on new music releases so soon, even if it isn’t their own release and that their part or rather Stewart’s is as a featured vocal artist on the collaborative effort.

Prepare yourselves as you hit on the press play of “Break Over You”, for a big rush of euphoric synth-pop to sweep you off your feet. Since the collaboration between UK songwriter & producer Draper and Prides is pumped to the max of fizzy-mageddeon.

Yes, if at first I thought this summer was going to stroll on by without a Prides furnished anthem to see me through the season, I have been proved all so wrong and am totally whooping in delight to know that my summer is freshly squeezed with my favoured kind of electronic pop adrenaline.

It has to be said, that Draper and Prides make for a formidable team, as “Break Over You” is totally synth-pop bombastic, bar none!

They’ve kept the video quite simple, but then there is SO much going on in the song, that you just want to go with where the flow of it takes you. Which is absolutely an on-point thing to be doing. As let me enlighten you, would be not be turning up at a Prides show and spend the evening standing around like a wet fish. As soon as they strike up a chord the party very much begins.

This is what is really conveyed in this video, it’s not a cop-out or just some folk going for a bop. OK it is some folk having a bop, but Christ alive I’d defy anyone to stand steadfast still when anything of Prides synthiness bulldozers its way into our lives.
