There is something a bit mysterious about Shaed. Ever since we wrote about them in January, we’ve been catching their signature sound in all sorts of unexpected places around Londontown. Their track “Perfume” is one that you just can’t help to groove to when hits the earwaves. I’ve also been putting on their EP “Just Wanna See” when entertaining guests or when I need a bit of mood music.

Knowing that Shaed were going to play SXSW this year, it was pretty much a no-brainer to go catch their afternoon show at Antone’s as part of the Music Is Universal showcase. It was the first time I got to experience Shaed and their blend of nu-groove electronic pop beats. There is something quite sexually titilating too about Shaed , or at least it feels like it when watching the band play live. The band’s musicians, Max and Spencer Ernst are identical twins, only differentiated by their lovely locks. Both boys share some sort of ethereal connection with lead singer Chelsea Lee too which makes you wonder how they met and how they are “so connected” to each other.

The band proclaims that they make music that is colourful and I would agree with that wholeheartedly. Shades of blue, green and purple feel like they wash over you when listening to the band perform live.

Shaed are performing live all over the states in April and I highly suggest you go check them out before they blow up. Get a taste for their show with our live footage below.
