Simon+Curtis+SEXY

You know, there used to be a time when I felt like I was the only fan of Simon Curtis in London, but boy oh boy, have those times changed!  So on Monday, Simon unleashed his new album samper on Billboard.com for his follow-up to “8-Bit Heart” called “RΔ” to what can only be described as a “Twitter Frenzy” with his 20K + followers causing quite the explosion in my Twitter timeline.  And very rightly so if you ask me, the “RΔ” album megamix sounds rather amazing indeed – an electro-pop lovers dream come true and I’ve only heard 4 minutes and 20 seconds of the 4 song material thus far.

There is no real reason for this post today, other than I just wanted to congratulate Simon for really being a pioneer in DIY social media driven pop.  You have to pat him on the back when you look at the facts.  He has no manager, he has no publicist, he has no tour manager, he has no budget and what really is the biggest pop injustice of them all – no record label.  But yet it astounds me that with over 1 million free downloads of “8-Bit Heart” and over 20K + Twitter followers, this pop star isn’t given the same access to exposure that other crap major label artists get handed ever-so-easily.  There isn’t a reason in the world why this is justified – he’s proven he’s a success and has worked very hard to acheive his social media celebrity.  It’s time the world takes notice.

If you haven’t yet heard, EQ Live is organizing Simon Curtis’ first London show on Saturday night, May 14th at The Workshop in Hoxton.  It’s a show that is organized by the fans, for the fans via social networking.  The show is only £15 and also includes two very special support acts in the way of Andrea Lewis and Ro Danishei.  Not only will you get to see Simon Curtis perform in an intimate, up-close-and-personal environment, ticket buyers will also get to attend a meet and greet with all three performers earlier in the day.

We are also working on a special surprise too for ticket buyers who purchase their tickets before April 17th…so if you haven’t yet bought your tickets via Paypal – I would highly (very highly) suggest you do.  All the information about the show can be accessed on Facebook

VERY IMPORTANT– Remember Simon’s first London show will only happen on May 14th if you support it and buy tickets.  We need at least 120 people to do so by April 17th and were nearly half way there in making it happen.

And as if you needed a call to action for the above – for now enjoy the “RΔ” album megamix…
