“White Noise” by Disclosure & AlunaGeorge

I was first introduced to AlunaGeorge while watching clips from London Fashion Week. AlunaGeorge performed the music for the Moschino runway show opening with a hipster cover of Montell Jordan “This is How We Do It.” I was not extremely impressed with the cover but I loved the music and energy that followed. When “Your Drums, Your Love” dropped AlunaGeorge became a regular in my playlists. There is something special about Aluna’s childlike tone. It speaks to your emotional side which sometimes makes you unsure if you want to cry or dance at the same time. Either way, combined with killer production by partner George Reid you can’t shut it off.

When the news hit of their collaboration in the new Disclosure single I rushed to hear it first. “White Noise” combines pop vocals over a progressive house beat impeccably. This fresh hot sound is what top 40 artists are trying to do but sadly keep making the same song. The electronic build ups in “White Noise” are a great reminder that there are producers who are ready to take dance music to the next level. “White Noise” will certainly be an anthem for both indie music lovers and top 40 listeners.

Disclosure and AlunaGeorge may be the rookies in electronic music but they are proving to be leaders of the neo-electronic sound. It is no surprise that my EQ family fell in love with this song!
