Canadian electro-pop artist Lights returns with news of an upcoming third album “Little Machines” together with the first taster of what this highly awaited album has to offer coming via the first single release “Up We Go”.

It should come as no surprise that the period spent between Lights previous acclaimed album “Siberia” and the ensuing process of putting together the next in line “Little Machines” has determined some progression in sound for Lights, since afterall, feel that this would probably be owing somewhat reflectively of the pop stars own personal transition into marriage and motherhood together with all the new sense of perspective and experience it brings forth along with it.

There comes a defined uplift of sound palette the instant that the debut track “Up We Go” sounds off with a positively euphoric state that hasn’t been something we’d be associating with Lights previously, more pop and darker pop inclined works.

So “Up We Go” in some ways we’re finding to be a touch leaning towards Icona Pop-ification although, we are left in no doubt that this is the work of Lights since those unmistakeable signature synths couldn’t really be anybody else’s, not even Owl City.
