Fever High

We’re pretty much certain that there is a new electro-pop project thought up on the hour……. daily, when it comes to the thriving New York music scene, as it’s practically become known as a mecca in this respect.

To break out in a saturated music place such as this, really does require some overseeing talent to steer an up-and-coming act through to a greater scope of audience.

One such aspiring electro-pop duo that grabbed out attention already last year was the freshly masterminded venture betwixt Fountains of Wayne singer/songwriter/producer Adam Schlesinger in the forming of girl duo Fever High, now fronted by Brooklyn babes Anna Nordeen and Reni Lane.

Fever High’s tester offerings were as we formerly commented, of a spontaneously retro nu-disco nature. High on appeal assisted by a neon bomb of 80’s throwback pop perky imagined melody and freshly freestyled vox.

Onwards we go from those taster pressings as the duo are now ready to roll out their debut EP proper, beginning with the introductory focus track “Tantalized”.

In going forwards from where they initially came to our notice the duo continue to forge a throwback of synth driven disco pop. Of the kind that draws into the same sounding spirit of inspiration coming from the formative NYC underground dance culture and which stemmed into the mainstream during Madonna’s ascent into major pop league amid her “Like A Virgin” era.

As you press play on this, it might just further make you want to go search out some thrift-shop garments in striking arrays of neon brite clashing colours and dance your bobbysocks off with some fancy footwork like its 1984 all over again!
