Strange Talk

There was a surge of clamouring bloggers that helped to propel Australian synth-pop band Strange Talk into the ranks of the wider known when they initially surfaced back in 2011. Notably to their credit there was something rather Cut Copy appealing within Strange Talk’s brand of electro that went on to win them praise and ink them a record deal.

Between the time that debut album “Cast Away” was released, save a few remixes up until now, we kinda entered a zone where we knew things were happening within the band and it eventually became clear that the once four piece outfit had slimmed down to that of founder members Stephen Docker and Gerard Sidhu and also that as a duo they were working on new material.

The promise of new music has now been fulfilled as the Aussie synth masters have just launched out there with “Something’s Bout To Change”, a much super charged, dancier projected offering than their previous material.

I’m especially feeling shades of the Filthy Dukes, The Whip and The Presets running through this synth orchestrated dancefloor assertive track and feel that this everyway a good place for Strange Talk to be coming from right now. Hell I’ve been missing to the max, fizzing electronic-pop of this calibre, that it’s come around from Strange Talk is a happy surprise as far as I’m concerned. My ears are asking for more of this head buzzing electro-pop action already.
