X&Y

The recent emergence of pop outfit X&Y brought with it an affirming debut effort “This Love”, one that was noted by us, to be, of some sophisticated pop execution. Harnessed by soulfully floursecent melody and supported with voluptuously sleek layered harmonies X&Y were streaks ahead already in our estimation of establishing an up-front presence prior to any formal release of their material.

In the long range forecast the band are already actively working towards their debut album but in the here and now circumstances they continue to issue working insights into their adeptly penned sleekly gleaming pop.

Building upon their initial release the trio deploy their second focus hit “Rocket Science”, a track which yields immeasureable strident progression within the territory of cinematically climatic rousing pop/rock. Lifting the lid on a seismic mix of remarkably powerhouse carried vox and theatrical pop stance.

Quite honestly where did this come from? There was no hint upon the magnitude of this from the, in comparision stately debut at all!

Seriously this track is worthy of traversing the distance into far far greater things for X&Y, in that it’s positively screaming at me how alike it feels in character and scope of something that someone such as Adam Lambert might be odds on favourite to perform.

Aside from “Rocket Science’s” overall rousing steerage, it is vocalist Ben who has stirred up some major interest with this totally unexpected assertively commanding performance here.

With this one stonking pop song, a new music obsession has been well and truly initiated.
