Girl Friend

I DO like an up-and-coming band that has plenty of new material in the bank, as I consider it to be a rare commodity to find these days!

For the Indietronica outfit of Girl Friend who I have taken to with a nod of partiality, the only way to go right now is with the continuation of steam-rollering out their appealing pop noir efforts.

The dust hasn’t quite so much settled on the “Arrive Alone, Leave Alone” debut EP release and here we are with another of the bands sleek synth served tracks ready and awaiting our listening pleasure.

When pleasure amounts to Amory cooing his hypnotically gilded vox flanked by the presence of neon ignited synths its proving to be a win, win situation and as I’ve mentioned before I’m all in for it!

Painted of Girl Friend’s retro glamourous palate that we’ve come to know so well, we are anointed with the intoxicating grandeur which has arrived Girl Friend’s latest potent cut “Poison”.

It maybe that the beguiling Amory is overdosing in the hedonism a little when he offers up lyrics which purr “You should do what makes you happy, even if it makes you ill” and “maybe I’m addicted, scared to be alone, I want you to poison me, please don’t say no”.

Just think on how many times your head might have over-ruled your heart for being tanked up on a lemonade too many!

Amory and Co you are off the hook for seemingly leading us astray as it is all done in Girl Friend’s blissfully divine glamorous captured manner.
