Tayla

A lesson from a newcomer, in how to create an impression upon the current pop landscape. Which is positively saturated with lady types, wistfully doling out shimmery bittersweet helmed ditties out of the corners of their daintily delicate mouths.

Just when we thought, we were beginning to see an upturn in female pop circles. There has again, been a surge of female vocalists all coming out of the gate with a sound and style so similar in vein to one another that it’s just becoming way over cooked and frankly doesn’t in anyway cut an impression. This was until emerging songstress Tayla from Birmingham breezed in and woke us up from our disco nap with her fantastic funky debut release “Call Me Danger”.

The track itself is nu-retro glowing in the same kind of Nu Shooz funkaliciousness that the stateside duo dealt out in their freestyled rooted electronic creations. And the style choice moreover, sure still does provide a weighty impact from young pop upstart in-waiting Tayla.

Exuding a strong measure of confidence brought up through the ballsy “Call Me Danger” lyrics and out through her assertively on-point vocal style. Tayla sure does bring some much needed sass back into the female pop arena with aplomb.

Tayla’s bio reads: “Singer, songwriter, performer with a pop, hip-hop, R’n’B twist who just wants to make a life time supply of music and memories for the word to go crazy for. Are you ready?

Well Tayla totally got us jamming hard to this funk-mazing awesomesauce of a tune. We sure hope she’s got more than a few of these shizz hot pop bangers lined-up to let fly real soon, cuz we show no hesitation in allowing Tayla’s smokin’ debut colour our lives right now and neither should you!
