Tigertown

One of the more rewarding aspects of ploughing through the masses of emails and press releases in an electronic pop music bloggers inbox is that on some occasions, even if what you were sent to look at doesn’t fit the bill it may still lead you onto something that does.

Everything has a starting point and it is no different in new music discovery!

And sometimes it pays right off to go that extra mile in enduring listening through a track that isn’t fully your cup of tea, only to have Soundcloud’s automatic related playlist fire up to stream something else into your ears which grabs your attention all the more.

These are the circumstances leading to becoming aware of Australian electronic pop outfit Tigertown although, it might have been just so different since finding out they are signed to Neon Gold / Atlantic for the upcoming release of their debut album.

It just goes to reinforce the extent of electronic pop music there is out there waiting to be unearthed!
Sydney’s Tigertown are bonded in both music and family ties, formed of husband and wife team Chris and Charlie, alongside siblings Alexi and Elodie.

That these guys are about to embark on tour supporting St. Lucia should give you some indication of where their music lies. Geared in melody and carried by satisfyingly confident riffs which pull the listener in by the power of its irresistibly fizzing nature.

The blithely perky entree “Bullet From The Gun” serves fittingly as the lead introduction to the imminent “Lonely Cities” EP.

In what marks a busy schedule ahead for the breakout band, a return visit to this years SXSW looks set to take Tigertown on a fast-track ride to securing a buzz with their infectiously served indie synth-pop.
