White Sea

There are very good reasons why we shouldn’t sleep on “Bloodline” the new single by White Sea, because not only is it note-by-note superb, but simply for the facts, that Morgan Kibby or the artist known as White Sea to you and I, has reaped much success as a collaborator foremost to a heap of highly praised electronic acts, including M83 & Big Data. Whilst, also writing for Panic! At The Disco and lending her remixing skills to Britney, Demi Lovato, and The Naked And Famous through to Lorde.

Yes it’s a way impressive resume and quite something we should be mindful of!

Of her own music as White Sea, Morgan Kibby fashions an illuminatory scope of experimentation which goes as deep into the electro cinematic sphere as it does blurring the lines of dynamic pop.

Of the two “Bloodline” appeals to the latter. Being that it’s one highly charged pop song, fuelled by emotional release and that it doesn’t come with any restraints in its recording.

As we are seeing more and more of, artistes challenging the norms in their recordings and taking back control, White Sea doesn’t see making an album as the way forward this time instead, she’s thinking a little bit Imogen Heap and created her own music portal if you , an interactive art project called “Postcards From Nowhere”. Where aside from the obvious music and video content, she’ll be fully enhancing the experience with postcards, demos, polaroids and correspondence, directly with her fans without boundaries. Sounds like an exclusive club, but without the hefty cost to be part of it, as just an exchange of email will allow you roam into the magical realm.

The music largely speaks for itself, at least in the circumstance of “Bloodline”, its rousing and by the same token poignant and thought provoking, as all big alternative pop numbers should be.

If you’re looking for a track that has the power to stop you in your tracks “Bloodline” is it. If I maybe as bold to say this, a whole lot more people should be made aware of it!
