It’s not like I haven’t noticed the name FMLYBND before, as the emerging collective have already secured HypeMachine acclaim for their cyclonic blends of dreamy and at times dizzying synth pop, as well as seeing their track “Come Alive” included on the current EA Sports FIFA 2015 edition soundtrack.
Whilst the band have further touched down with a slew of anthems projected in the indie pop sensibility mostly, they are also astutely hitting up the keys in the right direction. A little of what they evoke could easily conjure up references to early MGMT, ASTR and Foster The People.
The FMLYBND themselves quote their music as being made-up of genre bending hooks with the intent to reshape electronic music. To this end they have been doing a pretty good job of it thus far, as their aforementioned achievements reinforce.
Now with an EP of material under the belts, the band have a plan of action to release a new track for each month of 2015 and what is more they will all be Soundcloud FREE DOWNLOADS.
The first out of the bag “Letting Go” is a particularly, alluringly arresting dream-pop evocative combination, of the completely intrinsic and hypnotically binge-listening worthy kind.
Yep there sure is something a little more than trance-fixing about this!
