Findlay 1

It’s not often that I go so far headfirst into instant obsession mode with a new emerging act these days as I have of that of Mancunian alt electronic pop outfit Findlay.

From a past derived of a background centred around pursuing a rock laden sound, Natalie Findlay and her band have retuned upon their initial outlook of rock leaning sensibilities by progressing their new music offerings forward with a glint of electro-pop seeping from within its sinewy indie alternative veins.

As a result of having undergone this realignment, what steps out of the once pop rock shadows is a kickass hit of pop sass with a side of eclectic diversity and topped off with a garnish of jagged hip-pop served atop. A recipe already known to have me salivating literally even before my finger hovered over the play button.

Assertive in her new attack on pop music making, Findlay’s profile has become raised over recent months owing to support slot with Brandon Flowers following working up comprehensive coverage through the festival circuit over the years.

The new material which has come out of this serves a fiercesomely tantalising couple of tracks thus far in “Electric Bones” and “Wolfback”.

For a full hit of emblazoned pop sass, your go to track is the neon spunky visited “Electric Bones

With affection I’d term “Wolfback” as a more underground effort which could be further likened to a drawling Marina Diamandis taking a turn at the Karaoke bar. Which if you’ve learned anything of my taste in music you’d be correct in recognising this all to be my favoured tipping point of sell within this kind of genre.

Quite see that Findlay has got the verve, the nerve and the weight of sassy attitude behind her to cut through the current mire of identikit female acts and in her stance make herself a firm tastemakers favourite.

I’m calling Findlay in as a future force of pop from here on in anyways!
