Cal Zafiro

Who is Cal Zafiro? As much as I know a singer songwriter based out of L.A. and who has just freshly appeared on the interweb. Ask me no more, because I know, no more to this effect!

However, whoever Cal Zafiro is, I do know so much that he possesses a smoothly soulful vocal tone which he centers around an urban pop direction of balladry.

A few months back Cal collaborated with another up-and-coming L.A. artist that of producer Midoca who is creatively dabbling in an electronic sonic hinged genre he has been establishing to be known as moodwave. Which you might take from that what you want, yet it does appear to be a trading partnership between the two emerging artists that they have input in each other’s work, well at least for the present time at this early stage in their infancy.

Cal’s debut release “Chlorine” is concentrated of a much poppier presence than that of Midoca’s debut efforts, as Cal goes forward to bring into play a softly lilting quality etched within the strength of his beguiling vocal prowess.

As Cal sings a bittersweet ode of desperately reaching out to a potential partner who isn’t actually available to him. Soul searching, fantasy and the crushing sting of heartache takes over.

In so much that “Chlorine” traverses into the arena of dark pop matter, it is nonetheless alluring and you can’t pull into question Cal’s earnestly conveyed performance.

I am suitably a little more than intrigued in the first instance by this debut effort and now I’d rather like to hear out something more of what the enigmatic Cal Zafiro can further bring to the popular music scene.
